insomnia
Common
Major Side Effects: Dizziness, daytime drowsiness,
headache, nausea and vomiting.

caution with other central nervous system (CNS) depressants such as
alcohol or barbiturates, because their effect can be increased.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist prior to taking other
medications with zolpidem.
Common
Dosages: The recommended adult dose is 10 mg immediately
before bedtime. Adjustment may be necessary when zolpidem is
given with drugs known to have CNS-depressant effects because
of the potentially addictive effects. Elderly, debilitated patients

tablet, since they are likely to require lower doses of the
zolpidem. The total dose should not exceed 10 mg.
Identification: Zolpidem is available in 5- and
10-mg tablets. Both are capsule-shaped, white and film-coated. The
5-mg tablet is imprinted with the letters 'AMB 5' on one
side and '5401' on the other. The 10-mg tablet is imprinted with
the letters 'AMB 10' on one side and '5421' on the
other.
Storage: Store below 86 degrees in a light- and
moisture-resistant container, out of direct sunlight. Do not store
in a bathroom or other area that is warm and humid.
